PLANNING A LESSON

What is planning?
Planning, is the art of combining different elements into a coherent whole, so that students can regognise, react to and work on within.

Before you start a new term, you have to think about how you can:

- Create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in your classroom.

- Arrange the room so that it is easy to move around.

- Make sure you have wall space for any displays you want to use and that there is space to put children's items or pictures.

When planning a lesson it is vital that theacher's have a clear idea of the children's levels and needs so that the lessons match their stages of development.

Teachers need to consider:

- Why? (intentions)

- What? (activities, materials...)

- How? (group work, individual work, methodology...)

- When? (Are children ready?, enough challenge?, difficult, easy?)

- Where? (classroom, outside)

When planning a lesson teachers are linking things, they go step by step, working with previous lessons and knowledge in order to help them in their learning process. It is esential to plan anithing that is going to be perform in the classroom.
