AN IDEAL ENGLISH TEACHER

In my opinion an ideal English teacher should be:
- Good communicator. He/she is going to be transmiting, not only speaking.
- Resilient. Consist on performing in different ways. Offer different needs to each student.
- Good command of English. Not only take a dregre, a good teacher should be up to date. Should be known about the different techiques, different ways to teach... not only know the language. Not been a pasive teacher we are involving all the time an a good teacher should know about the changes. Enrich your knowledge.
- A good teacher has to like what he/she is teaching, otherwise students are going to bored and you are not going to motivate them, because you don't like what you are doing. A good teacher should be in love with his/her proffesion, because if you are in love with your proffesion, you can do anything. Be patient.

HOW TO MAKE A LESSON PLAN

These are the steps a teacher have to follow when planning a lesson:

  1. Introduction: description of the topic/theme.
  2. Justification: learners (how many there are, how the classrrom is, learning conditions...) previous knowledge, timing, methodology, BCD, areas of concren, language required, materials.
  3. General objectives (competences): aims
  4. Selection of contents: conceptual, procedural, attitudinal.
  5. Didactic objectives (specific competences): derived from the general ones and the particular contents of this teaching situation.
  6. Methodology: ways of doing and principles your teaching is based on.
  7. Activity-design: what?, who?, where?, how?, resources, timing...
  8. Evaluation: learner's process of learning, development of the planning, making suggestions, asking for information, likes, dislikes...

If you are interesed in know more about lesson planning have a look at this webs:

GOLDEN RULES IN LESSON PLANNING

Golden rules when planning a lesson:

  1. Always think of the aim before planning a lesson
  2. Think of the problems you are likely to encounter when teaching/practising the target language.
  3. Always use vocabulary students already know when presenting new structures.
  4. Do pronunciation in the class.
  5. The most important thing of a language is that you can communicate with it. Students need to practise the language in the classroom to be able to manipulate it when talking freely outside the class. So plan an active lesson, they love standing up and walking round the class talking in English.
  6. It is not necessary to practice all 4 skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in one lesson.
  7. Logic steps in a lesson (presentation, controlled practice and free practice).

PLANNING A LESSON

What is planning?
Planning, is the art of combining different elements into a coherent whole, so that students can regognise, react to and work on within.

Before you start a new term, you have to think about how you can:

- Create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in your classroom.

- Arrange the room so that it is easy to move around.

- Make sure you have wall space for any displays you want to use and that there is space to put children's items or pictures.

When planning a lesson it is vital that theacher's have a clear idea of the children's levels and needs so that the lessons match their stages of development.

Teachers need to consider:

- Why? (intentions)

- What? (activities, materials...)

- How? (group work, individual work, methodology...)

- When? (Are children ready?, enough challenge?, difficult, easy?)

- Where? (classroom, outside)

When planning a lesson teachers are linking things, they go step by step, working with previous lessons and knowledge in order to help them in their learning process. It is esential to plan anithing that is going to be perform in the classroom.

ELEANIZTASUN PROIEKTUA GURE ESKOLETAN

Azken urteotan, gure eskoletan ingelesa irakasteko proiektu berria ezarri dute. Proiektu hau EAEko eskola publikoetan erabiltzeko egin zuten orain dela urte batzuk, nahiz eta, gaur egun ere eskola guztietan ez erabili.
Proiektu honen arabera, umeek 4 urterekin hasten dira ingelesa ikasten era dinamiko batean.
Nire ustez, irakasle zein ikasleentzako proiektu oso aberasgarria da.

Nik proiektu hau praktiketan nengoenean ezagutzeko aukera izan nuen eta bertako eskolan izandako emaitzak baikorrak izan ziren.
Proiektu honen inguruan informazio zehatzagoa jaso nahi izan ezkero web orrialde honetara jo ezazue.
